Israel in Prophecy

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:10-11 (ESV).

Isaiah 22:9-11, “In that day you looked to the weapons of the House of the Forest, and you saw that the breaches of the city of David were many. You collected the waters of the lower pool, and you counted the houses of Jerusalem you had destroyed to build the wall.  You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it or see him who planned it long ago.

Genesis 49:22-26, “Joseph is a fruitful bough, a fruitful bough by a spring; his branches run over the wall. The archers bitterly attacked him, shot at him, and harassed him severely, yet his bow remained unmoved; his arms were made agile by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel, by the God of your father who will help you, by the Almighty who will bless you with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that crouches beneath,    blessings of the breasts and the womb.  The blessings of your father are mighty beyond the blessings of my parents, up to the bounties of the everlasting hills.  May they be on the head of Joseph, and on the brow of him who was separated from his brothers.”

Who was prophesied to be the victor in this conflict?

Genesis 37:9, “Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers. “Listen,” he said, “I had another dream, and this time the sun and moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” Isaiah 22:1-13 gives a prophetic account of the battle.

The story of Joseph is the story of a boy who was given a great promise, but out of jealousy, his brother sold him into slavery.  But God was with him.  When his brothers returned to him, he spoke a foreign language, and God had made him so great that his brothers didn’t recognize him.   This is the story of a boy and a nation.  Recalling the end of the story Judah said, “I will be your servant if you will release Benjamin.”  Joseph could not contain himself and burst into tears, “I am your brother Joseph.”  And they all held each other and wept together.  As was the case for Joseph and his brothers. Is this unity between Arab and Jew in line with prophecy?

Hosea 1:11, “The people of Judah and the people of Israel will come together; they will appoint one leader (the prince of Joseph) and will come up out of the land, for great will be the day of Jezreel.”

Thus, what is the call of the believer, but to reveal the identity of Israel to the world.

Ezekiel 37:1-14, Prophesy to the bones and life will re-enter them.

Jeremiah 31:10, “Hear the word of the Lord, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘He who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over his flock like a shepherd.”
